FAQ
We chose menstrual cups because they provide a safe, sustainable and long-lasting solution for young women facing period poverty.A menstrual cup is a soft, flexible medical-grade silicone cup that is inserted into the vagina to collect menstrual fluid. When used correctly, it is hygienic, comfortable and safe. Once inserted, most users do not feel it and can continue their daily activities, including going to school, working, exercising and swimming. Each cup can be reused for up to 10 years, replacing around 2,500 disposable pads or tampons. Combined with education and local support, menstrual cups help young women manage their periods with greater confidence while reducing both financial and environmental burdens. For more details:menstrualcupcoalition.org/frequently-asked-questions-about-menstrual-cups/
